Join MILEX
MILEX is open to any academic librarian, at any Maryland institution, who is interested in the area of information literacy. We welcome ideas for collaborative efforts designed to develop information literate patrons at our individual institutions.
MILEX membership is on an annual basis, starting July 1 of each year. At $25 per individual, annual membership rates are an exceptionally great value. MILEX members enjoy reduced registration rates for MILEX programs and conferences.
All funds are administered by the University System of Maryland Foundation, Inc. for the benefit of MILEX.
If you would like to join MILEX, please choose one of two methods for payment of your membership dues:
1) to pay online by credit card (through the secure USM Foundation web site), please point your browser to
http://advdev.usmd.edu/givingevents/milex.cfm and complete the online membership forms.
2) to pay by check or money order, please print and complete the membership form (PDF).
You may submit the form and payment to any MILEX officer during a MILEX meeting or event or
you may
mail the form and payment to:

New members are added to the MILEX Roster and are encouraged to actively participate in the group by attending meetings, programs and other events. New members are also encouraged to actively participate in the MILEX Wiki and/or the MILEX Blog.
MILEX Listserv - MILEX maintains a listserv, for its membership, that serves as a primary conduit for group communication regarding functions, activities and discussions.
SUBSCRIBING:
New members may subscribe to the MILEX listserv by sending an e-mail to sympa@lists.umbc.edu;
leave the subject line blank and in the message type "SUBscribe MILEX your name" (without quotation marks) where the 'your name' portion of the text is replaced with your
actual name.
Your subscription request will be forwarded to the list owner who will send a subscription confirmation e-mail.
SENDING MAIL:
Subscribers may post to the MILEX listserv by sending an e-mail message to milex@lists.umbc.edu.
UNSUBSCRIBING:
Members may leave the MILEX listserv by sending an e-mail to sympa@lists.umbc.edu;
leave the subject line blank and in the message type "UNSubscribe MILEX" (without quotation marks).
COMMANDS:
A list of e-mail commands for the MILEX listserv may be obtained by sending an e-mail to sympa@lists.umbc.edu; leave the subject line blank and
type HELP in the message body.
